Good Wednesday, it’s the mid-week period and in the short term we have some pretty nice weather across the region.
High pressure is overhead the region as we head out this morning and that is allowing for a cool start to the day with temperatures in the 40’s.
Today is going to be about perfect for the first half of April, plenty of sunshine and temperatures getting well up into the 60’s by this afternoon. Winds should be light for the most part, only exceptions could be for those close to the Blue Ridge where local terrain can influence winds. With low humidity and high pressure fairly close by it will be another cool night with temperatures dropping down into the 40’s.
On Thursday we have some changes at the surface, high pressure will be departing off the east coast and that results in southwest flow pushing warmer air into the region. I know folks have been waiting patiently for it (some maybe not so patiently, lol) but anyway…this is the start of a warm-up that will get temperatures at or above normal for the end the work week. Thursday afternoon high’s should spike up into the mid 70’s region-wide under mostly sunny skies.
More of the same will occur on Friday, infact temperatures may even go up a bit more. Model projections are currently showing mid 70’s but given southwest flow regime we may be looking more at upper 70’s and a few low 80’s on those bank thermometers…that should really kick the plant and tree blooms into overdrive along with the pollen.
