The Weather Prediction Center has highlighted the Southern Appalachians with a moderate risk of excessive rainfall for today…rainfall amounts of 3-6 inches are possible through early Thursday with local higher amounts. This could lead to flash flooding and main stem river flooding given the already elevated water levels.
