Posted below is an updated look at some of the key points behind the upcoming storm system...

Low pressure across the Southern Plains will move into the Mid- South by Saturday, meanwhile strong high pressure to the north will help deliver a re-enforcing shot of cold air and it will wedge itself down the eastern slopes of the Appalachians late tonight and into Saturday, this will all set the stage for freezing and frozen precipitation...

There will be several impacts to this upcoming weather event starting with ice build up on trees and power lines along with roadways that could become hazardous. The image below provides a current timeline as to when these impacts could be realized in our coverage area and their severity...Sunday morning services could include some inclement weather conditions.

Model data overnight continues to indicate that the greatest threat of winter weather will occur in the Foothills and up against the Blue Ridge.
