Good Tuesday everyone! I hope that you have been able to dig out of the snow. It was a very slippery commute with freezing fog and icy roads. Temperatures will warm today into the low 40's. So we will see some melting take place today. Tonight temperatures will drop into the 20's and possibly the teens in some areas as high pressure moves into the area. Expect another icy commute Wednesday morning. If you don't have to be on the roads, don't!
As we look to Wednesday and Thursday relatively calm weather will be the story. Wednesday will be mainly sunny with highs in the low to mid 40's. Thursday we start to see clouds on the increase ahead of our next weather maker.
A low pressure will develop over the deep south and move into the area. This time we don't have enough cold air in the area for wintry precipitation. Rain will be the story. Rain will start on Friday and could last through the weekend depending on the which model guidance you look at. The GFS is much quicker with rain leaving the area by late Saturday. The Euro keeps it in the area through Sunday.
I'm concerned we could see some flooding concerns. We will likely still be melting snow in the area. The already melted snow will have the ground saturated. The models show another 1-2" of rain is possible in the area which could lead to flooding.
Stay tuned as we monitor the possibility of flooding.
