Good Morning everyone! I hope that your Tuesday is off to a good start!
Clouds should start to decrease throughout the day as a storm system moves off the coast. That system produced snow in Eastern NC, and The Pee Dee Region of South Carolina. We should see our highs bump into the mid to upper 40's.
Tonight will be very chilly across the area, a Wind Chill Advisory is up for NW Burke, NW Caldwell, and NW McDowell. Tonight we will see lows in the upper 10's to low 20's.
Sunny skies will dominate the short term forecast period. Wednesday temps will be in the low 40's and by Thursday we will see those highs bump into the low 50's. Lows for both days will fall into the low to mid 20's.
By Friday we will see the increase chances of precipitation. It looks like by late morning to early afternoon those rain chances will increase. It will be another chilly day, as highs will only top out in the mid to upper 40's. High pressure will traverse across the area on Saturday giving us a variable cloudy day with temperatures in the low 60's.
Sunday will be the day to watch. We should see that high pressure move out to sea, meaning we will not see the wedge to set up. Return flow out of the SE will likely kick off some showers across the foothills by Sunday morning. This will be ahead of a strong cold front. Ahead of the front we could see enough instability and wind shear to create the threat for some strong to severe thunderstorms. Sunday will have to be watched closely.
Have a great day!
