Good Monday everyone! I hope that you are doing well.
A cold front is moving through the area this morning, so showers have come to and end. Northwest winds will pick up late this morning. We could see some fairly high gust in our NW sections of Burke, Caldwell, and McDowell counties. Temperatures will be holding steady in the mid 40's and then slowly drop through the afternoon hours. Lows tonight will fall into the mid to upper 20's.
Northwest flow sets up for the time period between Tuesday and Thursday. This will bring some snow showers to the mountains on Tuesday into Wednesday morning. A few of those snow showers could spill over into locations like Apple Ridge, Blowing Rock, Colletsville, Globe, Mortimer, Brown Mountain, Ginger Cake Acres, Jonas Ridge, Table Rock, Linville Falls, Ashford, Woolawn, Little Switzerland. A few of those snow flakes could ventures into the lower elevations.
Temperatures will be very chilly over the next few days. Highs will be in low to mid 40's. Low's will be in the low 20's. Now is a good time to remember those cold weather preparations.
As we head towards the weekend (Friday - Sunday) unsettled weather appears with our next weather maker.
