Yesterday's cold front passage has lead to an early taste of fall. Many areas this morning dropped into the upper 40's to low 50's. Beautiful weather will be the story for this weekend. Sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 70's and lows in the upper 50's to low 60's. through Sunday.
Sunday nigh our attention will turn to Hurricane Irma as the storm moves up the east coast of Florida as a major Hurricane.
11 AM Advisory on Hurricane Irma
As we go into Monday evening conditions across western North Carolina will start to deteriorate. Tropical Storm force winds are likely to reach the area by Monday night. As we go into Tuesday morning high wind gusts, heavy rain and the potential for tornadoes will be around. The NHC has placed Irma over the foothills by 8 am Tuesday.
Impacts from Irma for our area will be damaging wind gust, flash flooding, and isolated tornadoes.
Irma should start to move out of the area Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.
