An upper level low will slowly moved South through the Midwest today pushing a cold front East. That front will approach our area today and move into our area tomorrow. Today slow moving showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region. These showers and storms will produce rain rates near 2 inches per hour with the strongest storms producing rain rates over 2 inches per hour. Today’s storms will be slow movers and will likely back build, and slow torrential rains to affect the same areas repeatedly. Here is today’s futurecast as of this morning.
Storms begin around Noon in the mountains and then develop east from there. We will provide updates as things unfold today.
